Details of course assessment.
Each unit of work has a common assessment, based at level 5 of the New Zealand curriculum. The items come from the science component of the NZCER assessment data bank.
Marks are recorded in an electronic spreadsheet, and are used for mid year and end of year reports.
All students sit a common exam in November that tests all seven completed units. This mark contributes to 50% of the overall year grade, with the other 50% coming from the seven completed assessments during the year.
