Learning Objectives:
- Recognise the basic headings used in a scientific investigation i.e. Aim, Method, Results, Conclusion
- Understand the difference between an “aim” and a “hypothesis”
- Be able to write an aim or a hypothesis for a specific investigation
- Practise writing a detailed plan for an investigation which numbers in a logical manner the steps that must be followed
- Practise taking measurements when doing an investigation
- Practise collecting and recording data in a neat, logical table
- Practise graphing results (data) using the appropriate type of graph (line or bar)
- Practise taking information from data tables and graphs
- Write conclusions which relate findings to the purpose of the investigation
- Practise evaluating investigations to identify errors and improvements.
