Learning Objectives:
- Recognise the basic headings used in a scientific investigation i.e. Aim, Method, Results, Conclusion
- Practice writing an aim (purpose) or an hypothesis for specific investigations
- Practise writing detailed plans for investigations that clearly show the steps that must be followed
- Practice listing all the variables that may affect a particular situation
- Be able to identify the dependent and independent variables for a given investigation, and those variables that must be controlled
- Practice collecting and recording data in a neat, logical table
- Practice graphing results (data) using the appropriate type of graph
- Practice taking information (interpreting) from data tables and graphs
- Be able to present a report which discusses findings and how they relate to the purpose of the investigation
- Be able to identify improvements and errors in an investigation
- Carry out objectives 1 – 10 for two specific investigations.
