Assessment

The aims of this course are:


  • To develop an appreciation of New Zealand’s native plants and animals
  • To re-vegetate areas
  • to learn how to propagate native plants

The main topics covered in this course are:

  • Propagation and naming of native plants
  • Planting of trees and shrubs
  • Weed identification and control
  • Possums and their control

Prerequisite:
Students should have an interest in native plants and animals, working outside and achieving goals. Students must also be prepared to give up a lunchtime a week so there is sufficient time for our bush visits.
