The aims of this course are:
- To develop an appreciation of New Zealand’s native plants and animals
- To re-vegetate areas
- to learn how to propagate native plants
The main topics covered in this course are:
- Propagation and naming of native plants
- Planting of trees and shrubs
- Weed identification and control
- Possums and their control
Prerequisite: Students should have an interest in native plants and animals, working outside and achieving goals. Students must also be prepared to give up a lunchtime a week so there is sufficient time for our bush visits.
