Aims:
To involve students in the discovery of the variety and complexity of the living world, from single-celled organisms to the complexity of multi-cellular organisms, and by doing so to increase their sense of wonder, stimulate their curiosity, and help them to appreciate how organisms live.
Description:
The living world is studied at the cellular level, at the individual organism level and by investigating relationships between organisms in their natural environment. Practical work is an important part of the course.
Assessment: Both internal and external
Pre-requisites: 12 credits from Year 11 Science, 5 credits of which were for Biology. The final decision shall be at the discretion of the HOD Biology.

Fees: To cover the cost of one field trip. A workbook is purchased.
