Agriculture and Horticulture Department
This practical course is best suited to those students who have an interest in extending their science knowledge to plants and horticulture in general.
Students will carry out practical (and some theory work) within the context of plant production and management, plant propagation and landscape design.
Emphasis will also be given to skills involved with raising and caring for plants. It is important that students become involved in extensive practical work and maintain a garden throughout the year.
The practical skills and knowledge gained in this course will be able to be applied throughout a person’s lifetime. It will also assist in the development of an understanding of the importance of Agriculture and Horticulture to the future economic success of New Zealand as a whole.
