Agriculture and Horticulture Department

This science based course is best suited to those students who have a general interest in farming and wish to learn more about the Agricultural Industry and the exciting career opportunities that it offers.


Students will carry out practical and theory work in the context of animal and crop production, management practices, soil types and their properties, ATV and motor cycle riding skills.

Some students will have the opportunity to attend the ‘Window to Dairying’ careers information day during term one and the Fieldays during term two.


Prerequisite:
Students should have completed a successful year of Year 10 Science, have a keen interest in farming and want to learn more about the Agricultural Industry. Those not meeting the prerequisite may seek approval from the HOD.
