Year 10 Science Mainstream and Enrichment

Courses in Science at Year 10 are provided at mainstream level and enrichment level to accommodate the capabilities of individual students. The core teaching is in general science, but there are also options in electronics, horticulture and environmental science available.


Poster displayThe course in enrichment level Science is in fact the same as the Year 11 I course that culminates in sitting for NCEA papers at the end of the year. Success in this programme will lead to students undertaking the Advanced Science course in year 11.


The course in mainstream Science is set out as Units with specific Objectives associated with each Unit. There are Assignments and Projects associated with most Units which are in addition to the regular Homework requirements that accompany each course.


Enrichment
Completion of the Year 10 Enrichment course culminates in sitting for NCEA Level 1 papers at the end of the year.
