- Give examples of different fuels and their uses
- Describe environmental consequences of burning fuels
- Understand the carbon cycle
- Explain how greenhouse gases are formed, especially carbon dioxide through combustion of fuels and methane
- Understand how these gases contribute to the greenhouse effect and global warming
- Explain the effects of global warming on earth and the impact upon future generations if it continues
- Consider some possible solutions to reduce global warming.
