10.1 Practical Investigations
Learning Objectives:
- Know how to set out a scientific investigation
- Be able to write an aim (purpose) or an hypothesis for a specific investigation
- Write a detailed plan for an investigation which clearly shows the steps that must be followed.
- List all the variables that may affect a particular situation.
- Identify the dependent and independent variable for a given investigation, and which variables must be controlled.
- Collect and record data in a neat, logical table.
- Graph results (data) using the appropriate type of graph and interpret (take information) from the graph
- Present a report which discusses your findings and how they relate to the purpose of your investigation.
- Identify improvements and errors in your investigation.
