At Hamilton's Fraser High School, achievement is about cultivating habits and attitudes that enable young people to face difficulty and uncertainty calmly, confidently and creatively.
To live successfully in the twenty-first century, it is not enough to leave school with a handful of certificates. Our students have to learn how to be resourceful, imaginitive, and respectful of others. They must have integrity, and be self-disciplined, collaborative and inquisitive.
At Fraser we provide numerous opportunities for our students to develop the skills and attitudes for success. We value and celebrate achievement in academic studies, sport, the visual and performing arts, community service and cultural activities.
Each faculty offers enrichment for academically able students. The top students in each learning area are selected based on their previour year's results. Goals of the faculty enrichment programmes include developing a positive attitude to learning, and challenging the students' thinking. We also aim to raise the level of academic performance and to prepare our students for university.
We work with students and their parents to build the learning power of each student so that they can achieve their goals, and be ready to make the most of the world they will enter when they graduate.
