Visual and Performing Arts

The Visual and Performing Arts are highly valued by Hamilton's Fraser High School. both as key areas of learning and as well supported cocurricular activities. We have a large Visual and Performing Arts Faculty, many of whom are practising artists and performers.

Within the classroom students have access to up-to-date digital technology, allowing them to produce work of a very professional standard. We aim to be recognised as Hamilton's premier school for the Visual Arts.

Students may participate in School Productions, Stage Challenge, Shakespeare Festival, Theatre Sports, Cheerleading, Talent Quests, Dance and Hip Hop. Students are encouraged to perform in or drama activities, plus as many again are involved in direction, design and construction of sets, costume, makeup, lighting and sound, choreography and music. With three full time music teachers and an itinerant music programme, combined with excellent facilities and instruments, music opportunities abound at Fraser: Guitar and Jazz Orchestra, Choral Groups, Stage Band, Chamber Groups and Rock Bands.
