Dress and Grooming

Cadets are to conform with standard NZDF (New Zealand Defence Force) and NZCF (New Zealand Cadet Force) Standards and Regulations.

While a Cadet is in uniform their appearance must be of the highest standard as follows:

  1. Hair must conform with service standards
  2. Clean black shoes
  3. Clean and pressed uniforms
  4. Clean and trimmed finger nails
  5. Cosmetic make-up and jewellery may not be worn by Cadets (female Cadets only may wear plain studs/sleepers in their ears)
    (Male Cadets may not wear any jewellery other than a watch).

NOTE : Until a Cadet is issued with a uniform, they are to wear their School uniform. In the event of a Cadet not having a school uniform, their appearance and dress must be of a HIGH standard.

Service Dress All Ranks (SDAR)

SDAR

This uniform is worn by all ranks of the New Zealand Cadet Forces. Cadets and Officers that are required to attend courses will also wear this form of dress. The female version is identical to the male version.

The photo shows a light weight uniform. In most cases Rank badges are worn on the shoulders (although there are some exceptions, check out Ranks for more information), name tags above the right breast pocket and medal ribbons are worn above the left breast pocket.



Disruptive Pattern Material (DPMs)

Field, Combat and Fatigue Dress

This dress is worn by all ranks of the NZ Army and New Zealand Defence Force for most forms of training and on operations. The shirt and trousers are Disruptive Pattern Material (commonly known as DPM) for camouflage.
